Today's the interview day. Have two interviews scheduled for a promotion from my current position to the next logical step. Cross your fingers !
Had a full day of work (including a 4 hour afternoon meeting) and then headed over to a work-sponsored event at The Boneyard. It's basically like a miniature Dave and Busters (Lots of arcade games, good catered food and drinks). Set the record for 86 points in the Basketball Quick Shot game, so that was cool. Previous high score was held by Jason Ice @ 70 points. Boo-yeah.
On the way home - heard a repeating noise coming from under the car while driving. Pulled over, checked the wheel and tire. Whoops - worn down to the metal ! Had to move all the stuff from the trunk into the back seat. Then pulled out the spare and slapped it on. All during the wet blowing rain. Luckily, I was at a gas station so I was shielded for the most part. Didn't get home until 10:30 so that was kind of a bummer. However, I'll just put the winter tires on now and get the replacements before next summer :) (I think I'll also get an alignment, too)
HOUSE NEWS : Nothing new yet. Still waiting to hear back from the bank as to what their septic company's estimate is. They're now sloting for us to close next Tues/Wed. Not counting on it as things seem to take forever now-a-days.
FLEW down to North Canton to meet Waller for a brief lunch. It was only 35 minutes, but I showed pictures of the house and it was a good time !
HOUSE NEWS :
Met the insurance rep up at the house to make sure we get the insurance lined up for the upcoming purchase :) That went fine. Ended up washing the car in the driveway (as I feel I had the write after paying for gas and electric for the past month while the bank's been farting around, dragging their feet). I then tried to lower the garage door, but it didn't work just right. I tried to reconnect one of the tension cables and then WHAPP ! Instant missing skin on the right hand. Should have put the gloves on previous to doing any work. Outcome - had to slide the garage door down with no help from the tension springs. Boy was it heavy.
Volleyball, volleyball, volleyball.
Played 3 matches. 2 in Euclid with Ice and others. We took 5 out of 6 games. That was followed up with 3 wins over Bowden's team. It felt good to play well, but I was feeling it the day after for sure.
HOUSE NEWS :
Nothing earth shattering. Spoke w/ my realtor and the foreclosure bank's realtor is trying to get this thing wrapped up for us. She's pushing her bank saying "Theses people are ready to close this week (by Friday, 9/28) so we should just place what they asked into escrow and move on." Hopefully she can get the bank to move.
Allyson's family came up on Sunday to Celebrate her Step-father (Rob) and brother's (Blake) birthdays. We all went over to the house on Dunham to show them what we are looking at buying. Allyson's mom has worked for a title agency for a number of years, so she's got valuable experience in the field. Allyson's grandpa (Pappy) Roger has done all kinds of work on houses / apartments and had great insight as well.
It seemed like everyone was excited, especially Allyson and I.
We followed up the tour with some grilled chicken and burgers with salad, baked beans, and (of course) some birthday cake !
Unfortunately, the Browns lost again (of course) but that was the only thing that didn't go well !
Tonight - 3 Volleyball matches. 6:15, 7:10 and 9:00. Might be sore tomorrow !
HOCKEY - Ended up in a 4-4 tie, but felt like a loss. We were up 3-1 late in the third but couldn't keep the lead. Didn't have any legs left about half way through the 2nd period, so that lets me know that I need to keep working out for sure.
After the game, I headed over to a teammates house as she was celebrating her 30th birthday. Hung out talked about hockey and college football until the wee hours of the mornin'.
Today, did a little vacuuming (Allyson understands that this is something that I enjoy, oddly) and cleaned the bathroom. I should have done this more often than I have.
Now, Allyson and I are over at Jason and Moriah's watching the OSU game and getting ready to eat some steaks and other good eats.
HOUSE - No news. Hope to hear something good (or just at least something) on Monday.
OK - In anticipation for tonight's game I headed over to the local sports store to have my skates freshened up. There were 3 rivets missing on the right skate and 1 missing on the left. Turns out there a few more that were bad as well.
I asked the skate guy to fix all that needed to be done, so he ended up replacing all but 2 rivets (a total of 16 replaced, I think.)
In any case, I should be better off tonight with solid wheels. At least I hope so.
Also, another fun purchase was made :) Brian's AirLite Blocker - ONLY $79.99 !!! Retails for $230.00 2nd from the bottom after clicking on the link Brian's AirLite Blocker
I know I don't get to use it this season, but it definitely is a steal !
HOUSE NEWS - Nothing yet. :( We're keeping our fingers crossed.
First entry. Trying to think what to say. Well...Had a typical workday, but it was unusually gorgeous outside, so after work, Allyson and I went for a run/jog. Found a good path from a nearby development that went into some thick woods so it felt like Kidron.
HOUSE NEWS : Realtor called, stating that the bank (seller) was only going to provide the funds to have the Aeration pump replaced on the septic tank, as they claimed this is all that needed to be replaced to bring the system up to code. They said that they spoke to Summit Co. Health Dept. and they backed that statement up. The problem I had w/ that ? There are additional standards going into place on Jan. 1st, 2007. The Summit Co. H. Dept. inspector had told me that even if the Aeration pump was replaced now, it would then fail the upcoming tests after the 1st of year, prompting entire replacement. Hence, it doesn't make sense to replace only the Aeration pump now, to then have to replace the whole system in January.
Called the S.C.H.D and spoke with an inspector. They clarified the situation-Even if the Aeration pump was replaced now, the system would not even meet TODAY's code, and therefore, the entire system must be replaced immediately. The inspector said that she'd be happy to relay this info to the bank (seller) so they are aware of the situation. I provided the bank w/ the inspectors number, and I assume that they'll be talking tomorrow morning sometime. Hopefully then, we can make some headway and get this deal done !
OTHER NEWS:
Tomorrow is Fantasy Hockey Draft Night @ Fazoli's in Wooster w/ the Crew N Friends. After that is Hockey game and then post-game Birthday Celebration.
I'll try and keep this thing going on a consistent basis :)
